In the Chinese zodiac, 2025 is the Year of the Snake, the sixth animal in the twelve-year cycle. The Snake represents wisdom, charm, elegance, and transformation and is associated with personal and professional growth. In celebration of the Chinese New Year (also known as the Lunar New Year), you can enjoy an exceptional performance of the celebratory Lion Dance that dates back thousands of years to the Han Dynasty.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1 • 6 PM
Seneca Niagara Hotel Lobby

FREE TO ATTEND!

During the performance, two “dancers” in a lion costume become the body of the lion. Moving to beating drums, clashing cymbals, and gongs, the lion is “fed” cash-filled red envelopes, called a Hong Bao, to symbolize the chasing away of evil spirits and bring prosperity for the coming year.

The Lunar New Year of the Snake runs January 29, 2025 – February 16, 2026.
