In the Chinese zodiac, 2026 is the Year of the Horse, the seventh animal in the twelve-year cycle, and specifically the Fire Horse for 2026. The Fire Horse represents independence, freedom, and ambition and is associated with a powerful, fast-paced energy that can lead to creativity and innovation. In celebration of the Chinese New Year (also known as the Lunar New Year), you can enjoy an exceptional performance of the celebratory Lion Dance that dates back thousands of years to the Han Dynasty.

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 28 • 6 PM

Seneca Niagara Hotel Lobby

FREE TO ATTEND!

During the performance, two “dancers” in a lion costume become the body of the lion. Moving to beating drums, clashing cymbals, and gongs, the lion is “fed” cash-filled red envelopes, called a Hong Bao, to symbolize the chasing away of evil spirits and bring prosperity for the coming year.

The Lunar New Year of the Horse runs February 17, 2026 – February 5, 2027.
