Gearing up for their 50th anniversary, these Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees remain an indispensable force in rock, beloved for their mischievous wit, powerhouse hooks, and razor-sharp riffs. Formed in Rockford, Illinois, in 1974, the band has earned over 40 international Gold and Platinum certifications, countless awards, appearances on more than 20 movie soundtracks, and record sales exceeding 20 million. From early classics like “California Man” and “Dream Police” to worldwide hits “Surrender,” “I Want You to Want Me,” and their first #1 single, “The Flame,” their music has left an indelible mark on American rock. Their 1978 breakthrough album Heaven Tonight, followed by the legendary Cheap Trick at Budokan, propelled the band to global superstardom. Later albums, including Dream Police, All Shook Up, and 1988’s Lap of Luxury, continued their string of chart successes and demonstrated their continued relevance. Over the decades, their influence has inspired multitudes of bands and artists, and with over 5,000 shows to date, they remain a high-energy live act, performing more than 150 nights a year worldwide. With the release of their 21st studio album, “All Washed Up” in November 2025, Cheap Trick proves that they are not just a legendary name, but a living, vibrant force in rock music.
