SENECA NIAGARA CASINO & HOTEL AIMING TO MAKE HOLIDAYS EXTRA SPECIAL
'Cookies for Kids' to support two local charities

NIAGARA FALLS, NEW YORK - Using what they believe to be Western New York's largest gingerbread house as inspiration, Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel today announced a special effort to help deliver an extra special holiday season for the youth of Niagara Falls.

Calling the program "Cookies for Kids," Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel will be selling specially made holiday cookies at its Morrie's Express outlet from today through Christmas Eve. All of the proceeds from the program will benefit the Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club and the Niagara Police Athletic League.

The Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club has been serving the Niagara Falls community for generations, often giving children a place to go many times when there is no alternative," said Philip J. Pantano, Seneca Gaming Corporation spokesman. But, impacting the lives of children also means guiding them and helping them to become upstanding members of our community, and the Niagara Police Athletic League takes this mission to heart."

To help get the effort off to a fast start, Brian Hansberry, President and CEO of Seneca Gaming Corporation, presented checks for $5,000 to both organizations, in recognition of the casino's upcoming five-year anniversary.

This is just a small recognition for the exemplary work the Boys & Girls Club and PAL have done on behalf of area children for so many years," Hansberry said. Together, we hope to make the holidays a little happier for the children who are helped by these great organizations."

Cookies for Kids" is just the latest in a long list of charitable efforts the casino and its employees have undertaken in Niagara Falls and Western New York.

In September, casino employees raised more than $30,000 for the Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk in Buffalo, and they contributed more than $85,000 to the annual United Way campaign in Niagara Falls. For the holiday season, one group of employees is orchestrating a toy drive for underprivileged children, department managers are fulfilling wish lists" for individuals helped by the City Mission on Buffalo Avenue, and Culinary staff will be serving a Christmas Eve meal - donated by the casino - at the Community Missions.

Making a difference for special organizations and causes has become a hallmark of Seneca Gaming Corporation and the Seneca Nation of Indians," Hansberry added.

As a group of guests listened to the details of the Cookies for Kids" campaign, they enjoyed some holiday treats by an approximately four-foot tall gingerbread house prepared by the casino's Culinary team.

The house consists of, among other ingredients, 250 pounds of gingerbread, 175 pounds of cake icing, 180 candy canes and took a combined 500 hours to build. The gingerbread house is on display in the hotel lobby at Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel near the Morrie's Express outlet where the special holiday cookies are being sold.
